Let the shows begin!

Spent the day in a total frenzy. Somehow my watch has been running behind schedule, causing me to dash around from midtown to downtown and back around again all day in order to get to where I need to be. My afternoon schedule was in need of some revision so I tweaked it by giving my dear friend a call only to find out that help was in serious need over at the Picture Ray Studio. I hurried down in an instant to assist the stylists in executing Keith Lissner's designs for his showcase and lookbook.

When things wrapped up and I finally had a chance to myself, I hurried to check Acne's Spring/Summer 2010 line that kick-started the fashion season this Tuesday, across the Atlantic, in London.




I am really enjoying the featured, printed pants and dip dyed fringe. But I must add that I came across similar renditions of those heels and found them rather repulsive.

I've always admired her captivating imagery. Her pictures remind me of one of my treasured quotes: "what lingered after them was not life, but the most trivial list of mundane facts: a clock ticking on a wall, a room dim at noon, and the outrageousness of a human being thinking only of herself." It's an imprinted impression of mysteriousness and whimsicality caught in a single photograph that truly defines her talent.

there has been a particular pair of shorts on my mind ever since late, last February. They would be a great transitional piece from autumn to winter and then, once again, from winter to spring. I'd imagine they would work wonderfully paired with these phantasmal, vintage-inspire Chloe kicks featured in the very same collection...

Browsing around the Internet today, I came to the realization that Karl and I must have a overlap in the muse sector of our lives, at least when it comes to hair inspirations this fall. Looking through his both flawless and elysian runway collection for this upcoming season, I could not help but take a moment and recognize that statement blond coiffure that a selection of models were displayed in had a startling resemblance to Sylvie Vartan's same "do". It is precisely the style I wish I could showcase on a day to day basis. Shamefully my guts are weak and as much as I would love to sport this look, I cannot find it within myself to take the risk and part with my locks!

BACK TO THE FUTURE

If you rewind history, we were stuck in a time of Sputnik and President John F. Kennedy's unforgettable space speech in the 1960's. But what we fail to realize is the significance of it all and it's impact on us today. It helped us form a pattern, a tradition so to speak, to think forward into the future. "Space, the final frontier..." when those words were first heard in the opening credits to the original StarTrek on the eight of September in 1966, television was changed forever. Though the uniforms on the television show may have been regulation - long-sleeved jerseys with the Starship Federation insignia on the chest and gold detailing on the cuffs for men; a mini dress version of the same general look for women - their geometric, modern lines have been inspiring design creations ever since. We have undoubtedly been intrigued by the idea of future and worlds outside our own. A little over a month ago we celebrated our own landing on the moon. Through these minimalistic curvature concepts for silhouettes and Y3K inspired looks are definitely generated for the space age, they seem to be just as appropriate when shape-shifted into our daily lives this fall. Morph this look into your wardrobe with solid pieces that work with what you already own. Visualize yourself in a pair of D&G square sunglasses or perhaps a Calvin Klein rounded-shoulder blazer.
